Village Question's

Postby Twentytwos » Wed Feb 24, 2010 5:30 am

So i have checked the forums and may have missed it and wiki is very vague, but i have a few question regarding Villages.

1. Can a Village have more than 1 Idol.
2. How do you connect Villages to each other, say i want to create Travel to each other's village.
3. Can you be in more than 1 Village.
4. Do Crossroad have to be on Village authority, like if i want to create a travel points to a higher quality resource area.
5. How do you invite people to you village that are not in the immedate area of you. A list of commands would be great.

If there is a forum or a guide i missed would be great if you could link. Thanks

Edit:
6. Can you increase the authority covered by banner's and statue's my same farm took 3 statues to cover and its not very big.

A village can only have one idol.

A crossroad is constructed by the lawspeaker within the village authority radius. This radius can be extended lopsidedly by using banners, also placed by the lawspeaker. The lawspeaker can then make crossroad signs and exchange them with any other lawspeaker who can attach them to a crossroad within their village, thereby linking the two territories. Or there can be two or more crossroads within a villages territory, for example one inside the wall and one outside for convenience in getting out of the village without opening the gate.

You can only be in one village at a time. However you don't have to stay in a village and can be sworn back into one if you leave it. If you swear allegiance to a new village while a member of an old village you automatically leave the first village.

Yes, crossroads have to be on village authority, but not necessarily your village authority.

To invite someone to join your village the lawspeaker of chieftain has to click on them with the scroll that comes up as mouse pointer when you press the "swear into village" button. This can also be done by clicking on the square that represents someone who is in party with you, even if you can't see them.

1. Can a Village have more than 1 Idol.

No, but it can have a charter stone. This can be deactivated if you just want it for authority or the village radius. A charterstone allows new players to spawn inside your village though, so its best not to build that, or keep it deactivated.

2. How do you connect Villages to each other, say i want to create Travel to each other's village.

Crossroad signs. iirc, only the chieftan and lawspeaker can build these. They are also the only ones who can take a sign from the crossroads, or add signs to a crossroads. In order to be able to warp to a village, their leader must give you a sign.

3. Can you be in more than 1 Village.

Nope. Only way to be able to use 2 villages at once is to party someone who is part of the village you are not in. You will get access to it the same as being part of it.

4. Do Crossroad have to be on Village authority, like if i want to create a travel points to a higher quality resource area.

Yes. This is why villages commonly have alt villages so they can have signs to the high Q spots.

5. How do you invite people to you village that are not in the immedate area of you. A list of commands would be great.

Invite them to a party, then click on their picture with the Oath(or whatever it is) action. Both people must be outside for this to work. I dont know about a list of actions that the chief/lawspeaker can do.

6. Can you increase the authority covered by banner's and statue's my same farm took 3 statues to cover and its not very big.

Nope, but I am guessing you knew that already. The only thing I can tell you is to make the statues/flags as spread out as possible. And only cover what needs be, valuables and walls. Its a bit silly to try to cover the whole area with the radius.

You would have to leave your village and give up your lawspeakership beforehand.

You would also have to leave someone as lawspeaker/chieftan of the other village. If everyone left, nobody would be able to reinvite you back.
