How do I kill a bear?

Ok, so now bears also act like bulldozers, breaking buildings and building signs in their path, so you cannot box them in. So we can't kill them with range.

Before reset I had 170 melee, and i couldn't beat a IX or X bear with the new combat system. SO melee is not the answer.

What now? Is there any reasonable way to bring them down?

Do we have to start looking for bugs and exploits in order to re-balance the order of things? Is this what the new system is encouraging?

If i don't find a decent way to bring them down I'll just box it in with an army of alts that I won't care if they die. Is that what Jorb wants? 20 extra alts lagging the server to bring down a bear?

You should try usin a sling or bow. Then build yourself in with access to a stone (if you are usin a sling)and attack the bear.

...and then it will most likely run away, cause thats what they do when they cannot access you. It might work from time to time, also getting them stuck at a river might still be a viable option to get them killed.

I said he should box himself in, not the bear. Dont mix that up, and i didnt know that they might run away, but this method worked fine for me until now.

the bear DOES tear down the box - within seconds! today i was first surprised about the sound and then about the bear standing next to me ^^

You can still trap them with things they cant break down

right now there is no real way of killing a bear without it getting stuck somehow

in fact all ranged combat relies on creatures being stuck to even be able to hit them which is really dumb
