Best Ways to Hunt

With the semi-new combat system, and the new map and level 10 animals abound, and the inability to pin bears, I was wondering what the best ways to hunt are now. I already now killing ants is simple, and raiding the nest is even simpler. But i am wondering about foxes, boars, deers, mouflons, aurochs, and the evil demon-ninja bears. stats and strategies would be helpful. thanks in advance.

With 20 marks you can easily kill everything (less also works, but is harder). Boars are easy, foxes are not worth the trouble because of their high agi. With muflons or aurochs trap yourself at a stone, with boars and deer trap them. Bears can still be trapped with various things, like boats for example. Deers seem to be king of the forest now, best thing is to seperate one from the herd. Oh and hunting in groups is far superior to hunting alone if you want to get the job done quick, the lp split is not so awesome though.

I would also advise at least a q10 sling and some points in perception.

I am not entirely certain what the hhp situation with anials is. I always suspected animals do not have hhp at all. Avu and me tried to kill a deer for over half an hour when we still were on low marksan. We didn't manage to do so, so I am guessing either deer heal hhp as well or hhp do not matter at all for animals. Maybe someone (hello loftorb ^^) can clear this up?

I am a very new player so perhaps my way is not the best of ways. But i find the way to kill mouflon is to sling the stones at one from the boat. When that one dies I sail away and get more stones. When i return the mouflon is dead and they are still congregated. But there is no aggro. So I land and skin him and butcher him and in this way I have meat to eat while I kill. Otherwise i will be very hungry before i could kill half a flock and so find myself trapped beside the big rock. When i have eaten i get once more into my boat and from the water again work to kill another mouflon. This way i can even take back some of my stones and do not have to use stamina to chip more. I kill just as many as i need.
