Planting Trees

Postby kobnach » Thu Jun 18, 2009 7:46 am

How long do treeplanter's pots setting on a herbalist's table take to become plantable (or die) and how long do they remain plantable after that. This morning I left them and went to work - dead when I got back. I then consulted someone who sais to expect them to mature in approx. 1 real time hour, and to die overnight. That was approx 9 PM; it's now 11:45, my plants still are not ready, and I want to go to bed.

Also, can I take the pots off the herbalist table and slow their development, or will that just kill them?

I really want to replace the trees I've been killing, but I think I won't be able to do it until I understand the system.

Replying to myself - had a plantable tree at 11:50. A dead one noticed at 11:53 - may have been dead at same time, it's less noticeable. So 2 hours, more or less.

The time it takes depends on your nature/industry slider, I believe. The further +nature you are, the faster it goes.

Try estimating the time once the clock starts. If you watch it and see how long it takes to get one quarter of the way around you will know how long it will take to get all the way around and whether or not it is worth staying up. *yaaawn!*

Some trees will die instead of sprout no matter what you do, unless you are full nature and even then I'm not sure.

If the clock doesn't start try taking the tree off the table and putting it on again.

Even someone with high nature can get bad luck and mostly dead trees.

First thing I do when I start a gaming session is start my trees, then I go hunt, farm, mine, whatever, running back to check on the trees periodically.
