Using a loom?

I recently finished a loom so I could make gauze, approached it with my wool and clicked create gauze but it just keeps telling me I need a loom. Usually when this happen with a fire I just right click the fire and im good to go, why wont it work for the loom?

Sometimes I find you have to approach game objects from the right direction. Have a try at a bunch of different directions, and see how that goes.
