Forget about that crap. Seriously.
Taming is completely broken, top to bottom, both mechanically because wheat is a goddamn unobtainium and is used for everything in livestock keeping, and physically because the taming process takes a long and boring period of real-life time of repetitious and character-endangering actions. In fact, once tamed, you have to walk all the way back to your home with it; there's no way to quick-travel with a tamed animal.
Heaven help you when you commit suicide because you disconnected and the animal you were taming vanishes into thin virtual-reality.
Instead:
1. Spam exploration until it hits =>20.
2. Find 4-leaf clover on grassland (yellow i've found so far gives them, purple and green grassland maybe)
3. L-click clover to pick it up from inventory, and then right-click on the sheep you want to sheer for wool, or cow you want to milk. (be sure you have a bucket and that it's either empty, or not full of milk already)
4. Receive the resource once from that animal.
5. Return to step 3 and repeat on other animals until out of clover.
6. Return to step 2 and repeat until you have enough wool/milk.
The Dwarf is making a plaintive gesture. He doesn't really care about anything any more.
