How to summon?

I just got robbed by someone's alt, I tried to summon him by his hearth fire with theft scent. I am a semi noob really, so I drag and right click on his hearth with the scent to summon him right? Well, it didn't work. Can someone explain what scent is summonable and what's not? Thanks!

Another personal question, now what do you do with that alt's main lol, because one of the item I managed to track down to where it was (his main's house)...smart criminal alt eh? I think I saw this guy too and talked to him. Is it justified if I go kill his main too? Personally, I think stealing is one thing, but getting caught stealing and doing it again is a different matter.

Left click to grab the scent, then right click on the hearth with the scent. If the option to summon doesn't come up, then it is either the wrong hearth, or a non-summoning scent (assault, trespassing).

Whether you kill the main is really up to you. Generally, the more effort someone has put into robbing someone else, the more likely I am to kill them when I have a choice.

its not much use otherwise: rage lets you attack other people without them attacking you first
