Ranged Item Quality and Marksmenship

Postby DarkConvict » Mon Mar 08, 2010 10:26 pm

Since both sling/bow quality and marksmanship increase the aiming speed,

Is there a cap on marksmanship usefulness on helping aim speed before u need a better sling?
If so is there a ratio, marksmanship matching sling quality?

Reading that stones have no IEMM, So if using Q10 stones, you can never go above level 10.

Marksmenship 35 (35x1) = 35
Q20 Sling (20x2) = 40
Ammo Stone Q10 = 10

Lowest value is 10.

So an alternative setup

Marksmenship 35 (35x1) = 40
Q15 Bow (15x2) = 30
Q30 Bone Arrow (30x2) = 60

Lowest value is 30.

wrong.

(i.e. their quality do not matter)

that means stones are not factored into the equation at all. so for a sling it is only your marksman and the sling q that matter.

In the post mentioned I see no help from equipted items then where aim-time is concerned, no matter what quality your marksmanship is, you can never go above it because only the lowest value of the equation determines your effective aim skill? Doesn't this negate bothering to up the quality of your items as long as they remain equal to your marksmanship skill? What good is grinding the ability to produce a Q100 bow if your marksmanship is 25? I mean sure, it "Claims" that damage will be determined by Q of weapon and projectile, but where the sitting forever waiting for an aim to max out is concerned, the q of your weapon and or projectile is moot as long as it is equal to your marks skill?

first of all how would you make a q100 bow with 25 marksman? secondly, yes, if your marksmanship is lower than your equipment, it would use the lower value, your marksmanship. what this means is that you can raise your marksman up to 2x the q of your equipment (for slings and wooden bows, anyway) before there is no longer a benefit to doing so. and yes, it "claims" that the damage is determined by your equipment, because it is.
