I go down the same trapdoor to New Brodgar - end up in another empty city.

i benefit from people specializing in stuff i dont care about, and trading is easier when you have a group of people delivering the stuff, otherwise, you could easily do it alone and be at mercy of raiders and such

the whle game is based on miles of nothing, waiting for settling and cultivation

good point, unless its beds are empty, the city is just sleeping. Though usually after some time there will be some empty homes too
