Silk Quality

Postby Spazbomb » Fri Mar 19, 2010 8:13 am

So I decided to have some fun making silk, but unlike anything else I've worked with my quality lvls have been dropping consistently since catching my first wild silk moths. Every new generation of moth Ive bred has been lower than the previous. This is the one thing I havent been able to figure out. So any tips from veteran silkmakers on how to bump up my worm, moth and thread quality?

I know the mulberry leaves I use are a factor.
And at the moment I'm not in the position to access any metal for a metal cauldron.
I figured from posts on tree planting that I probably should upgrade the quality of my herbalist table. So thats an investment in higher carpentry. Sewing doesnt seem to effect the worms themselves, and seeing as how I'm getting lvl 5 worms with decent attributes and skills I'm guessing none do.

It's probably your table. What were the qualities of materials that went into it?

Are you losing quality when you go from egg to worm? If that's the case, it's definitely the table.

I will definitly have to rebuild the tables, they were from early on and couldnt be more than an avg lv5 in materials. Thanks for confirming that! I'm guessing loom and spindle quality will effect my end silk product then? What about the clay cauldron itself, are there lvls of Q in clay cauldrons or does it have a fixed lower effect till I get a metal one. I've noticed the Q of water makes no difference in unravelling.

Correct, cauldron q is irrelevant (as well as water and fuel q). And yeah, loom and spinning wheel need upgrades too. But most importantly, you need better mulberry trees.

Does sewing affects any part of the process?

They assume safety in the village that they dwell in. There is a predator of the clan who assumes his dominince over all the hearthlings. They try to run away to find safety, but he is to fast. And that is the great cycle of the village clan.
