Postby Zbzikowany » Fri Mar 19, 2010 4:32 pm

ok i searched couple days for a mine , i ventured to the end of the map , prospected more than 20 caves ,50 dirt barrens , forests of every kind and 1 mountain , i didnt find any metal vein , i have 49 exp , 25 perc and over 30 int , i dont have a problem finding rustroots , only to prospect the mine , is it even possible to make one ? what i m doing wrong? is my charcter bugged ? i have personal beliefs switched 1 point towards industry form the default position

none of that shit matters, what matters is that any mines near where you prospected had already been built. i kind of doubt that you've covered the entire map though.

Has nothing to do with stats, skills or believes. Just pure luck. The thing is that people went crazy to find mines in the first days of the new map, so I guess most of them are taken now or at least built. Some people built a mine and then leave it alone, just so nobody else can have it.

Your best shot is to wait till the new supergrids are added and search those then. Size of the world will be doubled when they are added.

i saw only 1 mine builded within the days of my prospecting search so you probably need to be a fffffff demigod to have a mine?!?!?! or be a friend of the devs ? i dont understand the balancing of the game where few people have iron and the rest has no option to get it , other than buying from the "chosen ones"

The "choosen ones" had to look for the mine just like you did. Look some other place. And remember that the extract works in BIG range.

There are tons of people having mines this map, even really small communities of 2 or 3 people seem to be having mines nowadays, so stop complaining.

So all the assholes who "took all the mines just so no one else could get one" will not do the same thing when "new supergrids" are added?

You just have to be faster than those guys then. There is also always the possibility to stumble upon such a built mine by accident. Even if it is claimed, pop an idol next to it: Voila. We just did exactly that.

Well, let's see. Why would I want a mine for my group or myself. Main uses : Celler doors, scythe, beer mugs, , sausage grinder, chests.

Lower uses (for me anyway), possible brick walls, Chief statue for authority as opposed to a billion linen sucking flags, pickaxe for the thrill of playing the smithing part of the game.

Now you may suggest to trade for those few main uses, only, there is no where to trade unless perhaps you sit next to another village with a mine who will. I know I damn sure ain't walking 3 rl days or 15 in game hours trying to find some person somewhere on the map who maybe willing to trade some pie for a few bars of tin.

So, without ROB, no place to meet for trade, and nothing really to trade for metal anyway, that anyone wants, the only option is to have a mine of some kind on your own. Only with 350 people playing instead of 50 like it was 6 months ago, there is no mines left or that can be found. (He says after fnally returning home after going from northeast wall to northwest wall, coming down to central area and walling all the way back to east wall in a n-s zigzag, where village sits which took approx 4 rl days of 8 hours gaming per day with not 1 single reading out of 20 jars of extract and covering pretty much the whole top half of the map)

So, unless you know of a decent way to at least get those main uses without a mine or a decent way to trade. I guess question is answered.
