Tree planting

Postby Cicious » Wed Mar 24, 2010 8:28 am

I had a little questionabut tree planting, I managed to get myself a nice Q40 +- Treeplanters pot and some high Q water and stuff, atm the tree is on the table. The wiki says it takes 1 week to become fully grown, is this 1 week IRL or 1 ingame week? Also, is there some sort of calculation where I can get the Q of the new planted tree? like Q40 treeplanters pot + Q60 water + Q10 soil ( I know, rofl) = ??Q tree, or is it just some sort of 'random' thing that you can get a higher Q tree?

Thanks in advance.

Trees take various times to mature, even the same kind on the same terrain will sometimes takes different times to mature. have had big trres like Oaks take 3 weeks + to reach maturity, while Fir trees can be grown in 4 days. SO it varies.

To the quality. Herbalist table(the ingredients it was made with) + pots + water + soil + Tree seed + a "+/-" variable + your farming skill when you plant it (Which is about 2 hours rl time from the time you put them on the table), all together determines the end resulting tree in my experience (My highest trees were Q174 at last reset) all on my own from beginning q10. You just have to work with it, and keep increasing the quality of your table and ingredients and your orchard will continue to rise accordingly...like all things in a sandbox it is a longterm (and quite enjoyable) project.

I agree with everything, except for me trees would take 1rl hour on the herbalist table (full nature).

Also, without full nature, your trees can die on the table randomly. Generally my trees grow at the same rate until the final stage, which is random.

Trees grow best on their native ground, simple as that. Note that the two forrest types count as different terrain.

Yeah I have full nature, I knew it wasn't a very long time on the HT, just guess I never timed it out. 1 hour is even better.
