First pen the fox with unbuilt fires so that it can't get out. Then stand a little bit away from the enclosure. -About one tile. Foxes can jump and will claw you if you are as close to the enclosure as you can get.

If you are lower than about 30 marksman I would advise you to start with a sling. You can use a bow and they do more damage but they take for-fricking-ever to aim. Use the best equipment (sling or bow and arrows) that you can make. The higher the q the faster you will aim. I could kill a fox with 10 marksman and a q10 sling.

The weird target gauge that pops up when you click on the fox with your marksman is the aiming meter. It starts in the red showing that you have no chance to hit the target and then rises slowly to the yellow showing that you might hit the target and finally up to the green showing that you probably will hit the critter. Wait until it is as high as possible and then click anywhere on the screen and you will fire the first missle.

You won't kill the critter in one hit. Click the marksman button again and then the animal and wait for the interminable slow meter to rise... I read mefi or play solitaire while I wait. Keep going until the fox finally falls down dead.

You may want to pen the fox very near a boulder so that you can replenish the sling ammunition without dropping aggro. If aggro drops you don't get the lp for the hits before it dropped.

Good luck!

(I'm currently reading the forum while I aim at a bear that I accidentally lured into my pallisade.)
