How do i pave

Yes i am new, im sitting here looking though forums and wiki and cant find out how to pave. Do i need large stones? normal stones? and do i need a skill to do it. I dont wanna chop down more trees than i need to untill i can replace them later.

you need the stoneworking skill. plow the tile first. chip some stones. adventure > landscaping > pave.
