Churning Butter

Postby Cejer » Sun May 31, 2009 12:20 am

I'm having a little trouble getting the butter recipe to work. I have a churn built and 4 buckets with 35 L of milk in my inventory. My method: I right click the churn and then I press the craft button. I get the message "You need a churn to churn butter." Is this feature fully implemented yet or am I doing something wrong?

It should work.
The ones who see things differently.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

I have the same problem. I notice that when I right click a fire before cooking, my avatar walks to the fire. But when I right click the churn, nothing happens.

Aha, I think I've finally found the problem. It appears that you need the Baking skill in order to use a churn. I should probably add an error message explaining that. :)

EDIT: Of course, once I crank-start my brain, I may come to realize that the proper fix is to change the churn to require the same skill as the butter recipe (being Animal Husbandry). :)

The recipe says 35 units. It used 3.5L. Is this what was intended?

Yes, it a UI flaw. One "unit" when it comes to fluids and similar things refers to a deciliter of that fluid.
