Combat Damage

Postby shamelesspie » Sat Mar 27, 2010 4:25 am

Since I can't seem to get a clear answer from individual parties. Just thought I would toss this out there.

When I attack an animal, it shows two numbers. say, 22 and 96. 22 is orange colored and 96 is red. So, do animals have SHP and HHP like players do? I've been told no. This leaves me not understanding just how much damage I'm doing to my target. Do you add the numbers together and that gives you your overall damage or is it some other breakdown? My next guess would be that the red is your max damage and orange is your actual damage dealt? I dunno. Some answers would be nice

it's hhp (the small number) and shp (the big number) damage numbers, but since apparently (according to the devs) animals don't have hhp, nobody really knows what happens with the hhp number except the devs.

Awesome... So only info I have is nailing a fox with 3 arrows kills it with my current setup. Well thanks for the response anyway.

My guess is that The HHP damage displays through the duplication of PvP code purely 'cause it would be quicker to program that way, but that it doesn't mean anything when fighing animals... at least, not yet.

Well that makes sense. When we were taking on the bear (IX = 9*80 = 720 hp) The orange numbers didnt add up to enough. So the red (shp) had to have been the one counting as damage.
