Hide default cursor?

When I use my ooooold PC for H&H the cursor lags like a bitch. Can I hide it and use my default Linux cursor instead?

pretty sure it was already switched to hardware mouse ages ago, so not sure why it would lag still. chances are removing the graphic wouldn't help the lag.

and no i don't know how you'd go about disabling the graphic for the mouse.
