strong animals

Postby bloodcube » Thu Apr 01, 2010 9:52 am

me and my brother once killed ants and raided a nest, we thought that a fox would be possible if we could kill 5 ant swarms. then when we attacked a fox we were soooo bad! now i have a few questions:

- i was not able to use cleave but i was wearing an axe
- what skill values do i need to kill him, i have 8 unarmed combat, 14 strength and 11 armed combat ;)
- and finaly, what kind of armor is good for winning against a fox, i have leather boddy, leather boots and leather pants. :P

do mind that i tried to kill the fox with my brother so i do not need to be able to kill one alone. :geek: :ugeek:

thanks for reading, i hope someone can help me. :)

I tried to kill a IX level fox with 35 strength and over 40 unarmed and did not succeeded, but have read somewhere that you need at least 50 at unarmed.

To use the cleave you need 8 points of initiative and three levels of combat advantage as you can read here: http://havenandhearth.wikia.com/wiki/Co ... _Maneuvers

If you want to fight do not put lp-s in all types of combat. Put only in unarmed and use dodge and punch (and other attacks from unarmed) or put in melee and use shield and chop and cleave (and other attacks/moves from melee) or put in marksmanship , block the fox all around it with fires (do not build.. only initiate the construction) and shoot it.

About armor I do not know.. curios too about this :)

I have not tried to kill a fox with somebody else but probably you need more or less the same amount of skills since you will need to resist the attacks until you have the needed attack energy.

I solo'd a fox at 10 Marksmenship, it becomes quickish at 20 and under a minute at 30
Just build fires in the 4 directions around him only make the sign dont build

If you can trap, MM is def the way to go for foxes. Aggro animals are less succesful

i am definitely doing something wrong. I built a double ring of fires around a fox. shot it once... and the fox ran right through the wall of fires. Can someone post a pic? Frustrating... maybe i'll just forage and farm. BUT!!! ... I filled in every hole.. still walked through.

Don't actually build the fires, just put one branch in each sign so they don't dissapear.

Try to get in after you have built it to check all ways are blocked.
