I dropped my trousers...!

So...
I just started.
I opened the chest. Hadn't found inventory yet.
I clicked on the trousers and tried to click on me to wear them. Instead I heard a splash noise and now they've gone.
I managed to get most of the rest of my stuff, but now I am walking around with my ass out!
How do I get trousers?
Will other players notice if I'm not wearing any?

Your best bet is to get foraging and cloth making as soon as you can, and then raise your exploration until you start finding stinging nettles. Then you can make a pair of nettle pants. It takes five nettles. (Don't worry. Althought they are stinging nettles they won't actually sting you.)
