Find plaice?

Plaice used to be available only in the shallows of a lake during certain phases of the moon. With the new fishing update the location where I used to fish is no longer a fishing spot. I have found a brill fishing spot in a river, in exactly the sort of place I would have expected to find it before the fishing update. Does this mean that I have to find a fishing spot in the shallows of a lake in order to get plaice?

You have to sail over the rivers, you'll see fish jumping up in the water. I've recently found a spot with Q17 Perch, Brill and Pike. You've got to be lucky to find a spot, it's 30 minutes away from my camp. Just sit in your boat and cast the line so that animals can't attack you.

Hello!

First of all, fantastic game! Just started out a couple of minutes ago. So far i've learnt 2 new skills, and i've built some fires and gotten an axe.

However, i just learned fishing, and i have my fishing pole equipped, and i try to use the fishing skill on the water - but it tells me: "You need a fully equipped fishing pole to fish."

So... What am i doing wrong? :/

You need a lure and string. String can take a few more skills to get, go for foraging and the little brown roots on the ground can be used.

To get a lure you will need a varity of skills, i use the wooden fish and that needs carpentry.

evrytime i try to fish it dosent let me i try and put the bone hook or the lobster bait on it and it still doent work why???

Ah, just noticed i could create some additional tools in the crafting menu

Did you put string on your rod first (Taproot or plant fibres)

the fishing spots update has messed things up. I've travelled a supergrid's worth of rivers and lakes, going once around every lake. found no fishing spots in the shallows, neither in rivers nor in lakes kiss bream, plaice and pike goodbye, and with them perception and constitution FEPs.
