so Im in the process of building a timber house and i was wondering if i should spend some LP in something like carpentry.

Does carpentry make choping down trees any faster? Is there a stat that does?

And should i just say screw it all and just save up 4k LP for Yeomanny?

Thats a good idea.

Carpentry only affects the quality of cutting boards (and CRAFTING some wooden items)
BUILDING takes the average of items put into the construction site, and does not consider skills

The quality of houses does not matter so no need to get any points in carp just yet.

And don't sweat the LP (assuming you are raising your Peaceful (vs Martial) belief) -- by the time you are done with the timber house you will have a boatload of them (well, actually more given how little we can put in our boats).
