Defending?

Postby Heater » Sun Apr 04, 2010 8:46 am

How does one defend oneself from enemy raids and attacks? I tried fences and walls, but they seem to do little to no good against such determined invaders. Is there a good method or attack that I can use to rid myself of these aggressors?

Short answer. You don't. The attackers have all the advantages if they are at least as good a player as you are and chances are they are much better.

no righteous man raises his hand against the innocent,
a man need only strike another to make him evil."

You've been attacked with a battering ram?

Why are you being attacked so much?

And yes, there are things you can do, you can build defenses or try to convince or hire someone to protect/avenge you.

[*]Relocate yourself, water front properties are common raid targets.
[*]Find a village if possible.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

1: be hard to find. Timber houses dont show a house sign, but most importantly, stay away from rivers
2: spread out. If they find your place and see nothing but some house and a few plants, they wont make the effort if you have a palisade. Make patches of farming all around, out of sight of one another
3: wall yourself in. You can simply extend your palisade and build another layer around the existing one. Make 2 or 3 layers and you wont be worth the trouble

villages are both good and bad
1: you are easier to find
2: you have more people
3: there is often someone online
4: raiders have stronger combat stats and are online together
5: when something is lost, it is easier to replace
Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make all of them yourself.
