the beauty of leeches

Postby stryfe1986 » Tue Apr 06, 2010 7:25 pm

So i understand leeches are used to regain HHP. My question would be how many should i get? im at half bar because a stupid boar wouldn't leave me alone after he ko'ed me so i eneded up being ko'ed like 8 times(i even tried sprinting once, too much lag :/ ).

Should i fill all of my equipment slots with them? or how can i go about regaining my full bar once again?

The most effective way to get HHP back is by using gauze. If you don't have access to sheep/wool/four-leaf clover leeches are your only way. Each leech damages you for 3 SHP and has a chance to restore 1 HHP. Bases on personal experience I'd say the chance is roughly 10-20%.

Simply walk around in a swamp, let them attach to you, once they are bloated, take them off so another one can attachitself.

Two points:
  • if you are KO'd and camped by a bear/boar, you can always log out and log back in at your hearthfire.
  • Be sure you aren't very hungry (or worse) before doing the leech thing so that your SHP continues regenerationg.

At least the boar didn't spawn in your walled off camp. (I had that happen. Had to open the gate and log out so it would GTFO)

Leechs seem to become bloated very quickly so I have almost a cupboard full of them, they're all bloated practically and i've only gained like 9 of the HHP

Animals despawn after 30 minutes of no player spotting them. So there's no need to open your gate should an animal spawn inside. Just log out for 30 minutes and you're g2g. Alternatively, if you don't want to or simply can't wait, you can just open the gate, attract the boars attention and lure it away from your camp.

That's it actually. You can use the leeches as baits when they are done though if you are near a fishing node.
