Postby Omniwar0801 » Wed Apr 07, 2010 8:21 am

So Me and a buddy are playing and have claims not to far from each other but not to close ither.

So we have both taken up jobs so that the other doesnt have to focus on it as much. Kinda like playing one giant character.

Anywho Im getting into farming and i was wondering what foods i should eat to help (if they do at all) with my Q of farming.

And what is the best crop to grow?

Also with Learning ability ive got my peaceful meeter maxed as well as change and i am getting 360% which is awesome but im getting a little greedy. and im wondering if there are other bars i should move that would increase the amout of LA i can get it up to.

Judging by the beliefs breakdown sticky and other stuff that I have read 360% is the maximum. Can't help with the other stuff you asked because I am newer than you.

For farmin/cooking you need perception, so focus on eating carrots first. But since the total FEP you need is dependant on your highest stat make sure to keep them all somewhat balanced.

There is no best crop. The crop you need for most food crafting recipes is wheat though, so make sure you grow a lot of it. Hemp is superior to flax and you will need good fibres for a lot of important things like herbalist tables. Carrots I already mentioned. Onions are for pirozkhis, which give Con/Dex. Poppies are used in Ring of Brodgars which give Agi/Psy. Make sure to grow these two, so you already have a good variety in food that gives most different FEP. To reduce your travel weariness you need alcohol in form of beer or wine, most people prefer wine though. Tea has become somewhat helpful again, since it now boosts your maximum learning ability a bit and since you mentioned you want more than 360% you might wanna grow some too.

For the belief sliders, yes 360% is the maximum, but since you wanna be a farmer first get your nature slider to full as well, otherwise you won't get 3 seeds out of every tile of crops you harvest. Nature also helps you with growing trees and making silk.

Man thanks alot for that post Very helpful indeed.

So i know what carrots look like through their stages.

What about the others. is there a time where i should harvest wheat for seeds instead of crop so i can plant more.

And for carrots i can right click to harvest but ive seen a button for "harvest crop" will i have to do this with other crops or do all crops give the right click option when they are ready for harvest?

When you harvest Wheat, you get seeds, it's up to use whether you use them to plant more or grind into flour

The button for harvest just means you have to left click on the crop tile once, rather than right clicking and then selecting harvest when they are ready to be harvested.

Carrots are the only crop you can harvest in different stages so don't worry about the other crops, just harvest them when you are able to.

How is hemp superior to flax?
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Hi! :)
Just one more question:
I've gathered some WWW, dried them and they turned out into some seeds.
Now I am about to leave for about 2 weeks for vacation and I don't know whether to plant my seeds or keep it in the seedbag.

Do seeds rot in the bag?

Does harvest rot if I decide to plant it and won't pick it after it is ready for a while?

In other words - what should I do with the seeds now to save them?

Thank you... :D

If you have a claimed area, plant them. They will be fine while you're gone. If you don't have a claim, planting them may be risky because someone could come along and harvest them.
