What is this square?

Hi guys, just wondering what the heck this weird yellow square is? A picture below...

It's a cliff-tile. Sometimes it is highlights terrain behind a structure or tree when you stand behind it, similar how liftable or dropped things get highlighted when behind something like a cupboard or house. I got somethings when standing behind a boat and it highlighted a pink plant from a heathland.

Not much other than being a natural barricade.

oh, and another question if you don't mind. I've seen holes in those small cliff things, and entered them. But then the next day there was nothing. How do I make a new hole I can enter?

Those are caves. They usually don't disappear. It's more likely that you just went to the wrong place or that a fern was covering the hole.
