Need Help In Combat!

Hey guys/girls, I'm reasonably new to H&H and don't know that much about "unarmed" combat. Just to brush things off I have a level 9-10, and can kill only things that don't attack back so far. But really what I want to know is what my unarmed level has to be to kill foxes/boars/bears.

If you happened to know please post. If you don't, just don't post.

Firstly, can I ask what level things are? Should be a roman numeral in the portrait or the animal when you are fighting it. I up to X. Depending on the local civilisation level things will be higher or lower level. Thats the first thing to know before you can tell how powerful you need to be.

you need a lot. and you need armor. i'd go with marksmanship, you can do a lot more at lower levels. then once you get enough lp to get unarmed or melee up to say, 40, start hunting level i-iv critters.

40... You're kidding, that will take ages. I'll have to chop down tons of trees. And yes, I said "chop trees", I said this because this is the only way I can get high-ish lp. And also, there is no civilization where I am. This is because in the character creation thing I went up the ladder and I'm on an Island all by my self aside from the animals, trees ect.
Also, chopping trees only gets me "62" lp, so I can't get any higher and soon all the trees will me gone...

For advise or something useful to me just post

chopping trees is not really a good way to get LP... especially on an island

Build a boat, get off the island and explore. When you find a nice place to settle, make yourself a new hearthfire with one of your dreams. Then build a house, plow the ground, plant the seeds (which is another thread), and harvest the food--lots of Learning Points.

Note, Islands are problems if you ever want to tame sheep and cattle unless they spawn on the island already (no way to bring them home).

Yeah, probably stop cutting trees before they are all gone. Use the wood you cut down, build a house for example. Just start building whatever you can, unlock more and more stuff. Doing all that even if its menial will gradually get you LP. Once you get boat building then you can leave, or just go and import materials. Seriously...once all the trees were gone and say maybe you managed to kill that fox...what were you going to do then? Work towards something. For me it was food so i could live which meant fishing and hunting rabbits. Then a house was my next goal. Then leather.... And so on and so forth. no I want to take some chickens out of storage and build a coop, which needs straw.

Have little goals and build towards them, those combat skills will come with time. I just killed my first rats and frogs today...yay.

If you have opnly a few trees (maybe less than 10 or something) it might be a good idea to start over. Not sure if its possible to upgrade enough to build a boat from there, although I haven't looked at the math...you might make it.

Thanks for the advise, there's 3 problems...

1. I don't know how to make a boat and start exploring in it.
2. whenever I try to build a house thing it said "you can't build there"
3. where can I find seeds?
