Need Help with Boats!

Hi guys/girls, I was just wondering how to use a boat... I ask because when I do the "Interact" click it comes up with "Open" and "Avast!". When I click "Open", its has a small item box that I can't put anything in. When I click "Avast!" it does nothing.

If the boat is in water, clicking avast will make your character get into the boat. Then just click out on the water and move around.

Boats don't work on land.

'Lift' the boat and then place it in the shallows on the edge of water and try the 'avast' action again.

Those item slots are for liftable items, when your carrying an item that can be lifted right clicking on the boat will put it there.

Neither does swimming for that matter...

But drowing seems to work real well in deep water.
