Queueing actions

Postby Blxz » Sun Apr 11, 2010 7:50 am

Is it possible to queue up several identical actions in a row....for example paving a large area. Can I just do something and click 5 squares in a line and then leave my character to pave all 5?

If not that exact method is there any other way of queueing actions up?

In a word...

No.

If you try and start a second action, you generally interrupt the current one. The closest thing to a queue that I have seen is the craft all button.

Yeah, and shift-clicking materials in your inventory when adding to a building site or transferring to another container.... Nothing else, I wonder if its ever likely to be implemented? Would make walking through a forest easier as well.

Feel free to suggest it in the suggestion forum but make sure to use the search feature to see if anyone else has done so first.

If you are fueling a kiln or oven, you can pick up a stick and then shift-right click on the kiln/oven to load a stick from inventory (so with 3 sticks in inventory, you can pick up one, shift-right click 3 times, and end up with all 3 sticks in the oven). I haven't tried this yet for building sites.

shift click will transfer from your inventory and the most recently opened container, the equipment window, or a build site. shift mousewheel will transfer things between your inventory and the most recently opened container.

When the mousewheel works, it is much faster to use since you don't need to click on each item (just put the cursor in the inventory window and roll one direction to add stuff and the other to remove) -- it doesn't know what you are interested in moving which can limit its usefulness. SHIFT-CTRL-wheel moves stuff highest quality first. I have used this successfully on various containers, seed bags, drying frames, and herbalist tables (so far).
