the Chicken or the Egg?

Ok so i have a coop a chicken and some fodder is inthere. ok great...

Now do i have to have a Rooster to get eggs? or will the chicken Produce eggs on its on?

And to have Chicks hatch do i have to have a rooster or if i leave the eggs in the coop with the do their thing on their own?

chickens will lay eggs regardless, a rooster is there to fertilize them so chicks will hatch from the eggs

also the only way for the eggs to hatch is to not move the egg from one of the 2 spots directly under a chicken inside the coop grid

The wiki says three days. This could be real life days or in game days (which would be one real life day (one in game day = 8 real life hours).

No, you can use bagable seeds to fill the coops.
