Question about scents

I found two straw baskets laying on unclaimed land while on my boat today, just wanted to ask if I pick these up and put them on my boat will it leave a scent? Or because it's not on claimed land that it leaves nothing behind? I'd like the baskets but I don't want to get hurt if they aren't abandoned

It is a safe assumption that you won't leave scents if you have criminal acts turned off.

Really? I'm glad then. I'll have to see if I can find my way back to them then. They are just sitting in the middle of the wild with no one in sight, and they are empty so I'm guessing they were abandoned.
