Need Help With Dowsing Rods!

Postby Skyrise99 » Tue Apr 13, 2010 1:26 am

Hi guys, I've recently made a "Dowsing Rod". The only problem is, well, I have no idea how to use it...
So please, if you don't mind doing it, please post.

Cheers

this is what i did, i equipped it, it uses both hands, and then i just walked around until a red circle poped under me. it will also display a darker red triangle or arrow pointing at a certain direction. Go towards that direction until you see that triangle getting darker and darker and eventually you will find the blue tile in the ground and that is where you will place the well.

Good luck!

Yeah, its confusing. I thought that it would beep faster or something as you got closer. But you can see little 'wet' patches on the ground when you have that equipped. The darker triange arrow thing points you the way to go just like stryfe said. But it flashes up quite rarely (maybe more with higher quality?) so you need to be patient.

I generally find those pale blue well spots without bothering with that darn red circle with pie wedge flashing. I just wander until I see the blue spot. When I place a well I am mostly checking if there is one in a limited area that will be convenient to stuff I already have built or planned so I don't have to cover a lot of territory. However the blue well spots can be a pain to find in a thickly treed forest.

I gather that the wide end of the pie wedge is the direction of the well spot and the thicker it is the closer you are to the well spot.
