unravelling silk - quality reduction

so i unraveled some good quality cocoons, only to find the quality going down. i had 1 sewing. anyways it hasn't been a problem before so iam assuming dex might also be a factor as mine is high, and may have countered my sewing for awhile. so the question is: is unraveling affected by sewing? or sewing*dex or sewing*dex*psi?

no, cauldron, water and branch quality dont have anything to do with it
