Shooting at boars

Postby Heater » Sat Apr 17, 2010 6:01 am

My Marksmanship is 33, my sling quality is 10, and my Perception is 20. Should I try to kill boars at my current state? What influences my damage? Is it the large archery bar in the center, or my attack bar at the top? If it's the attack bar, how do I make the bar fill up quicker? How much HHP do boars have anyway?

The damage is influenced by the quality of your weapon and ammunition, the aiming time by your marksmanship skill value. The attack bar is not relevant in ranged fighting, only in melee.

Boars aren't exactly easy to kill with ranged weapons, since they tend to run away if their health drops below a certain amount (same as foxes).

You can kill boars if you can trap them, yes.

Ranged attack damage comes from your weapons base damage plus the ammo damage. Slings however, don't get added damage from their ammo (stones). Perception will raise your minimum damage range. Say you were hitting for 20-50 damage with 10 perception, raising it to 20 might change the range to 25-50. That's just an example though, I don't know how much it effects it.

The archery bar is your accuracy. You fill it up faster by getting better quality weapons that support your skill in Marksmanship. Slings shoot at the skill level of quality x2, so a q10 sling only has the accuracy of 20 marksmanship skill even if your skill is higher. The red attack bar doesn't seem to effect ranged attacks.

Boars have level x 30 HP.
