Okie dokie so I am trying to become the LS for a town that doesnt have one.

Yes i do have the skill LS
But i am not part of the village

so is there anything else i need to become LS?

Either the chieftain or the lawspeaker must make you part of the village. If both are dead than the position may be taken only by someone already in the village.

Ok waht about when everyone is dead and no one can take the job

No one can take the job. The village cannot swear new members and cannot make authority objects. It continues without these things until a village member has lawspeaking skill.

If you have skill and are member of the village, to make yourself lawspeaker right click upon the idol.

Ok, I have lawspeaking. I am a village member. I still cannot interact with the village idol. Not sure what else I need. Are there any other prerequisites? Without doing this we cannot undo the damage. Cannot let new or reincarnated members back into the village. What could be going wrong? Maybe the mods know?
