Need Help With Fishing!

Hey guys/girls, when I try fishing the system thing said "You need a fully equipped fishing rod". And just to brush things off, I'm pretty sure I do because...
1. I have a fishing rod that I have equipped...
2. I have put a wooden fish on it...
3. I have put a bone hook on it...
So really, my question is "What else do I need to put on my rod before I equip it and start fishing?"

You need a fishing line, which is any form of string other than the nettles (spindly taproot is probably the easiest to get).
