After getting a body and a name, I spoke to the wizard in brown. He asked me Hearth's secret, I said love. New stair appeared, I went down them and appeared in the middle of a forest with camp fires. I'm naked, I didn't take anything from the chest before going down there. I can't figure out how to chat globally. There's a runestone and a grinding stone of sorts. Also, I have a thorn in my foot now.

I'm not sure what to do. Advice would be appreciated.

Pick branches from trees and make fires. This will earn you lp

You can also take fir boughs and build lean-tos and spruce bough beds.

When you get 200 lp from this, get the skill lumberjacking.

When you get another 200 lp get the skill carpentry.

Find a big pointy phallic boulder. Chip a stone. Use it and a branch to make an axe.

Cut down a tree. Make two wooden blocks.

Make a pair of clogs.

Put them on. You then will be safe from thorns.

Not that much. Where am I? What happened when I went down those stairs after telling "love" to that brown wizard character at the top? What's in the other stairs that are there if I don't tell the password to the wizard? What was in that chest near the water if I got it instead of jumping down these stairs? Am I really far from civilization? Did I find a "secret" in the game by saying that to the wizard and going there? There's no one around me.

Now anyone who picks the word love as a hearth secret to tell the man in brown ends up where you are, and judging from your description of several campfires it has been several people.

If you had told the man in brown a word that nobody had picked he would have said, "there is no hearth secret like that" and the stairs would not have appeared.

If you and your buddy had decided to play together you would have gone up the ladder, spawned in the wilderness and made up a hearth secret, which you would have told him. Then when he was in the character creation room he would have told the man in brown and spawned beside you and you could have homesteaded together. That is what hearth secrets are for.

In the box was five loaves of bread, three torches, linen pants and shirt, wooden clogs, a fishingpole that needs line, hooks and lure to use, and a dream. The dream can be used to make your new hearth fire, or other things.

When the first person hit the area you are it was a random spawn as wild and remote as it was possible to be. It may still be utterly remote and almost unspoiled or you may in fact be near a village and many farms. You will have to explore to tell.

If you see either a boar or a bear get behind a tree and hide or they will attack and savage you. If you hide in time they won't see you.
