how do i find out the location of myself? at least what grid square im in, is mapping out a small part of your local area and then checking it to the rest of the maps about the only way?

You may also try looking around for the nearest towns or settlements, they may have by one way or another (Such as having reached the world walls), found out their approx location in the world and give you a heads up as to where you are generally located.
