Postby Omniwar0801 » Wed Apr 21, 2010 5:28 am

Ok so How does the mapping work i have the ingredients and i have mapped a section but when i right click on the parchment that was mapped its just a tiny portion. and in a weird location on the parchment so i moved spots and it mapped a different piece of parchment. Is there a way to combine these map sections or what>?

When you complete a local map, you have the option to copy this into a regional map which is a 5x5 of local maps on it.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

Just go to the area that is beside the coloured part of your map and which is one of the blank places on that parchment. You can use the mini map to make sure you are standing in the right place and not so far over you are off the parchment. Then you click on map again and another blank square fills in and another bit of ink disappears from your bottle and your quill comes a bit closer to disappearing. It maps the territory you are in when you click on the map icon, so make sure you don't stand in the territory you have already recorded or it will re-copy it, with updates of anything that changed.

For some reason it is tied to the minimap so instead of the section you map showing up on the parchment in the place you want, it shows up in the place the server thinks it belongs. This means that every map that is made can be matched to the other maps without overlap.

It's like a jigsaw puzzle. You get to fill the whole thing in.

Each local map is 4x4 minimaps. They are set in specific spots. Each parchment can hold one local map. If you go too far and end up in an area outside of the existing local map, you'll start another of that area. You can also make region maps by picking up a local map and right clicking on a blank parchment, then click the option to draw to region map, and it will add it. The local map has to be complete, with all 16 minimaps filled, in order to be drawn to a region map.
