A Few Planting Questions

Hey, I'm new to the game, and I have some seeds, which I planted, but I have a few nooby questions I wanted to ask since the wiki for most for plant growing was a little vague in my opinion.

1. Does it matter how you plant the plants as long as you can get to them?
2. Will soil quality worsen if you replant too many times?
3. How can you increase soil quality, or do you just have to plant somewhere with higher quality soil?
4. Do I need to do anything to the plants after planting them? They don't seem to want water
5. About how long until I can harvest my plants? I have no beehive, and does it take differing times for different plants?

Any other useful planting tips would also be appreciated.

None of them seem to address 1,2, or 4 that I've seen yet(Still looking through them), so I assume that means no, no, and no?

1) no it doesn't, most try to plant them in neat ?X? sqaures according to their tastes.
2) No it doesn't
3) No you cannot increase soil quality. Nor am I aware of soil quality effecting crops anyway.
4) No, just plant and wait for harvest time.
5) Some plants take longer to grow than others (Pumpkin for instance). You do need to build some beehives for various reasons including faster growing times.
