if your travel weariness is full, you can't teleport (except to your hearthfire, you can go there regardless of tw)

you can heal yourself with gauze or leeches. leeches are also good for bait when you fish.

You can't fast travel anywhere, except to your hearth (you can always travel there, as long as you don't have aggro on you). You can restore TW by logging out in a bed, drinking beer and wine or smoking tobacco.

Leeches are useful for healing, but they're kinda slow. Bandages are where it's at, but you probably can't find clovers yet (you feed them to mouflons to get wool). If you use leeches, keep an eye on your SHP. They drain your SHP and give HHP (10% chance, IIRC), but if you run out of SHP they start draining HHP.

Actually I find leeches to be much less of a pain than bandages (head slot! why do they take up the head slot!?), so long as they're decent quality (though that requires a decent CON score). A wardrobe full sucking on me while I'm puttering around the garden seems to do the the trick most of the time, but then I don't think I've lost more than about 15% of my total HHP at any one time before.

This also has the added bonus of generating a crapton of hunger... which may not be a bonus if you're not rolling in food like most established players.
