how do i get him here

So I have friend thats started in the middle of nowhere and I'm trying to get him to my little encampment. I'm wondering if anyone knows the fastest way to do this. I thought I read somewhere there was a way to just teleport him here using a sign or something like that? Please correct me if I'm wrong or give me advise on getting him here through walking.

Use your Kin window (the big heart icon) to set your Hearth Secret. Your friend then needs to create a new character, and then, instead of going up the ladder form the starting area, talk to the NPC left from the ladder, and type in your Hearth Secret. This will make him spawn at your place.

Or you could check http://havenmap.tk/ and see if you are close enough together to take the walk.

To tele through a signpost he'd need to be near a town that had a post to your town. If he does not want to make another character which would probably be easier, you can get him to you through walking. You would tell him your hearth secret so you could add him as Kin, then you invite him to a party with you. He would then begin walking in the direction he moves when he clicks on your party icon. Below his character picture in the top left of the screen, there will be a little box with a question mark in it, if he clicks on that he will auotmatically begin moving to you. He needs to continue walking, crossing rivers, ect, Until he finaly reaches you. This could take many many hours according to how far from you he is which is why it may be easier to just have him make a new character and come out at your hearthfire. But you can, as I said above, get him to you by walking in a party if he wants to do that.

Ya thats what we had him start doing. sadly we're on a land claim and the owner hasn't been around in a couple days.because of that he can't start at our encampment( well he can but he can't move). also the guy in question keeps getting his characters killed. so he started now his third character i think and he's got a tonne of stuff he's trying to get back to our camp for us lol. anyway I don't know how far he is. cause i don't know where our encampment is . its above gang band i think is what i've learnt, but no idea how far.

He can walk on claimed land if he turns on Criminal Acts in the Adventure menu. Note that trespassing is roughly equivalent to jaywalking and even a fresh new character can do it.

Gangband is in grid B2 and seems to be generally the most mapped supergrid. For future reference check this topic (latest pages are probably best). Of course that doesn't mean much since the new guy could spawn anywhere, so eh.

It is only possible, if you are a Lawspeaker of a village.
You make a party with your friend, then use a Lawspeaker Government ability "Oath of Allegiance" on your friend's picture in party.

When he becomes a member of your village, he will get the ability to teleport to Village Totem.
If he is on a reasonable distance from your village of course, if he's too far - he won't be able to teleport because of Travel Weariness limitations.
