Is it something to do for heating up clay objects?

Kilns are clay structures used for firing* pottery. You can put crafted raw clay objects in it with fuel for awhile to make them usable or put in straight clay to make bricks. Like the oven, smelter, and all that good stuff it will become unusable if it is in too poor of condition.

* Firing is a term used by potterers which means they heat it and dry it out in a kiln
