how do i catch fish faster

ok so when i first started fishing i used a rocklobster lure and caught fish really really fast but now it takes like 30mins for 1 fish

Location seems important. Try looking for a place where you see fish jumping out of the water.
And if you use bait you'll get fish really quickly, but lose the bait for each fish.

what i do is use bloated leeches, they catch all kinds of fish(eel, sturgen, pike etc) Super fast.

With lures each time you are going to catch a fish it will make a random roll. You can tell this has happened because you will get exp, even if no fish is caught. Using bait such as leeches and worms makes this a 100% chance to catch but uses up the bait each time. Lures have a smaller percentage chance but can keep being used.

Basically it sounds like at the beginning you were really lucky and now the rolls are going against you. As long as you are fishing at an actual spot you just need to wait. Go afk for a bit and have a drink, read a book, do some homework. Whatever.

Perhaps attaching tobacco to the end of your pole will yield results. Getting them addicted so they come back for more and tell their buddies! Aha. Too bad this isn't an actual feature(At least.. I don't think. DX). Bloated leech as I believe someone already suggested might be a good idea to try. XD.

Whenever I used leeches and earthworms results were nearly instantaneous. Probable explanation is that those baits need more effort and inventory space. I did fishing some 3 weeks ago.. maybe it changed.
