How do I use farming??

I have farming and I plowed a spot to plant some wheat, but I've never had farming before now.. So I don't know the controls.. and.. I've read the FAQ, the PAQ and a couple of other helpful posts.. But well, none of them say anything about it.. help please?

I'm not sure what you mean. If you're referring to the exact moves to plant a seed, just hold the seed on your cursor, and right-click on the plowed tile where you want to plant it.

Do you have the farming skill? You need that before you can do farming.

When you get it you left click the seed and right click the plot that is plowed in which you want to plant it.

Although not exactly accurate(as it's outdated!) you could always use the Wikia to figure out how to make basic recipes for food to cook n' such here:

You need seeds to plant in your plowed land. If you have them, just pick the seed up (left click it, so that it follows your cursor) then right click on the plowed ground.

If you don't have seeds, you'll either need to get them off someone else or grab the Foraging skill and level your Exploration up to 8 or so. Then you can start finding Windsown Weeds. It's a good idea to keep levelling your exploration up past 8 though or you won't find them reliably. 10-15 should do.

Grab those and hang them up on a drying frame. You may need the Hunting skill to build them. After a while they'll turn into random seeds you can plant.

If you're unlucky like me, someone will come and steal your drying seeds until you claim the land around your frames
