How do I improve block of wood quality

I've started a small woodlot where I'm growing better and better trees. I have a good saw and I've been able to increase the quality of my boards by a bunch. Using my better branches I've been able to get a slightly better stone axe, but my block of wood quality is still at 10. Even from better trees with a better stone axe, I can't get them to nudge even to 11. Do I just need to keep up the q improvements to my trees and axe or am I missing something?

Are you talking about the stumps from those trees or the actual blocks you cut with the axe from logs of those trees. The stumps will always be 10 no matter what the q of tree is. As for the blocks, that is strange, if you have logs that are from Q>10 and your axe is >10 and your construction is >10 you should be getting higher quality blocks from those logs. Be sure all those things are correct AND that you are talking about blocks from those logs and not from the stumps.

That's my problem right there. I've been digging stumps for my blocks. I incorrectly assumed that the q of stumps would go up as well. Thanks a lot!
