How do you fish and do you need a lure to fish?

Yes you do need a lure. For beginners I would use a rock lobster lure. Which you need one stone to make.

But, You will need:

Fishing rod.
Any root, (E.G Spindly Taproot)
Any Lure (E.G Rock Lobster Lure)
Any Hook (E.G Bone Hook)

Also you will need the fishing skill to be able to fish and craft these items.
If you already got these items. Left click and right click on the fishing rod.
When you got all of them attach and you got the fishing skill find any fishing spots and click on fish in the adventure tab.

You can also use bait (Earthworms, Leeches, etc) instead of lures. The advantage of bait is that when you fish you always get a fish but you have to replace the bait.
