How i can build a gate?

after i start a palisade with the inital counterpost i estend it to east
then i place the counterpost for side of the gate, now what i have to do for make a gate?
at the second counterpost i have no options for build a gate, just extend to... options

I believe to make a gate you need to place another cornerpost with a two tile gap from the one you just made. You should then be allowed the option of building a gate.

Corner Post on one side, wrap around in palisade and meet up with cornerpost on other side.

I use cornerposts as measurement and it should be four spaces. corner post on far left, and cornerpost on far right(that should meet up with the other one after wrapping your base in it.

Here, here's an example of what I mean.

X's are cornerposts and 0's are where the gate should be built. Remember that you must leave the O spaces without building anything in them in order to build gate there.

You should start at one X and work your way around and build WHOLE palisade before ending up finishing your palisade with a cornerpost three spaces away from your other one and then bam. Option to build gate in two spaces in middle if you rightclick either cornerpost.

Also, the two tiles where the gate are built as well as the two tiles on either sides of those tiles must be paved.
