making a mining alt. . .how to??

greets, any of u have a guide or can tell me the list of skillz i need to make an alt miner


he's gonna do nothing but mine the ore and make armor and swords and metal tools and things.


any help is always greatly appreciated

Miner alt needs to be full industry in order to get max metal yield % from smelters.

If you will be using him to make weapons and armor then develop his smithing skill.

I have never been a miner/smith but afaik the attribute to develop is strength - but someone with experience should comment on attribute.

1. Prepare loom construction sites
2. Make alt
3. Move alt's nature/industry belief towards industry
4. Construct looms until you get enough LP to buy swimming
5. Drown alt, reincarnate and go to 3
6. When you get full ind, construct looms until you get enough LP to buy mining

Skill tree, for reference

Also, you can make this go faster if you murder the alt instead of drowning him, but this method doesn't leave scents (sue me, I'm paranoid).

Btw the slider exploit always struck me as kind of odd. Maybe all sliders should be reset when a char dies?

That solution is worse than the problem. Losing points in farming is bad enough, losing full nature would be horrible.

I don't really see how this is "horrible", but ok. Maybe move all sliders back one point towards the center when you die? Seems a bit arbitrary, but at least prevents the exploit.

Or they could remember the last slider change of the ancestor and use that for the new character. Easy as pie.
