big bear banger FEPS and the wiki

Postby joojoo1975 » Tue May 25, 2010 3:10 am

big bear banger on the wiki says u get 8 str feps

but u need 1 intestines, 2 bear meat, 2 boar meat

why not just make piglet wursts which gives 3 feps and roasted bear meat which gives 3.5 feps?

i mean if u add up the ingrediants u get more outta the roasted and piglet wursts?

i mean with the piglet and roasted bear meat combo u get 13 STR feps(course ur gonna need another intestine

while big bear banger u only get 8

is my calculations off?

thanx for your help :)

I think the big question here is why do BBBs only give 8 STR now?

35 was maybe a bit much but 8 just makes them pointless, doesn't it?

Comparing Big Bear Bangers to its separate components:

Net FEP: -3 (worst FEP change with sausages)
Hunger filled : -6 (Tied with 4th in hunger loss)
FEP: Hunger Ratio: 0.113 (which is the lowest gain of all of the sausages)
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

While the FEPs could use a boost, they're still pretty handy. They pack a lot of hunger into one single inventory space. They're my food of choice when I'm going out on a long trip or for a bout of exploring and have limited space available. Furthermore, they're a sausage, and thus take about 1/20th as long as cooking up the individual meats.

There is also the bonus for eating a variety of foods.
And many animals give more meat than intestines. I think boars are 4 meat, 2 intestines, so if you just make piglet wursts then you end up with lots of extra meat. Recipes like bear bangers give you a chance to use up that surplus meat while consuming fewer intestines.

After being nerfed BBB are strictly inferior to roasted bearmeat now, when you take the amount needed and the FEP you gain into account. This needs to be changed, BBB were too strong before, but now they are useless.

15-18 sounds about right to me. I'll still continue to make them anyways as I save them for exploration trips, but they definitely could use a boost.

I think with the pepper update bbb's should be at least on par with the sum of their parts. But since they are one item they are far more suited for pepper usage for that added fep bonus. But yes, clearly 8 is far, far too low a number for such a high end food; especially compared to some of the cheeses.
