How do I defend my village?!

We were a nice little 10 men community in down under far far away from everywhere.


Then comes a single man in "blinky blinky (shiny)" armor and killed all of us with 300 damage points per hit.


For the next time.... how high have my stats and skills to be, to defend myself and friends without iron.

You won't be able to defend your town without iron against an attacker with iron. Especially when you start from scratch now and he already has a decent combat char.

Nobody will be able to tell you how high your stats exactly have to be, because that highly depends on who is attacking you. My advice would be to either (since your village isn't safe anyway) get to the outer grids and find an iron mine (plenty left there) or find someone to trade iron with. From there on follow these advices:

You should also build a palisade, that will protect you from some attackers at least. And yeah the best advice is already given. Go to the outer grids and find an iron mine, this wil make your life so much easier.

If he has over 300 str a palisade won't do much.

Depnding on your location and what you have left, grabbing what you can and moving far away is your best bet, if you have rustroot head to the new SGs, there's so many mines there it's crazy and apparently somehow some people still don't know they were added, so there are many still not even fully searched.

1. Start finding a location with an iron mine and move to the area. Alternatively you can simply move to another location and try to trade for iron.
2. Establishing village claim and defense wall perimeter. Use only one gate and only open for things you cannot carry in the village with teleportation. Otherwise have a crossroad in the village and at least one that you can teleport outside the village.
3. Have 2-3 of your villagers train towards combat as well to be able to fend off against attack. Anyone that has a skill that is only needed for softcap should do it as well.
4. Learn the combat system. I recommend using the link I have on my signature.
5. Learn ranging. That way if anything goes wrong and you guys are still alive. You can track their scent to their hearthfire, summon them while they are offline, and kill them without retaliation. If anything, you can post a request for help and see if some bored rangers want to do the job. Just keep in mind they are likely to keep the loot that they find but at least the raider(s) are dead.

Be like him and macro the shi' out of your skills. This is what he obviously did.

A quick fix that was made to the game will help to clear up a macro-friendly problem will clear up some nubs but it's definitely not a fix.. I can still see macroers abusing sooo many other areas of the game.

Basically. If you want to strive as a village pick a VERY isolated area(I can name some to you in PM.) that's deep into the woods or at least within a lot of walking distance from water. Generally. If the macroer is too lazy to actually play the game, you can only assume he's too lazy to actually walk from his boat to the deep woods looking for villages to destroy.

If you don't know. Macroing is basically a user running a bot to do stuff for them because they're too lazy or they want to destroy villages for the "lolz". I can give you a list of usernames from the forum that're pro-macro that you should basically ignore.
